The Cleanse, Day 9


Another sleepless night… and I even went through an elaborate ritual to prepare myself for sleep!  I took a warm shower, sprayed my pillow with Bath and Bodyworks Lavender and Chamomile spray, and went to bed early.  I was awoken at 2 am by a terrible smell so strong it woke me up!  Apparently a skunk must have been very upset right outside our bedroom window.  I couldn’t stay in the room (my husband, meantime snored away.)  So, I went upstairs  and worked a little on my website and finally went back to bed at 4:30 am.

It was hard to wake up and go to yoga this morning.  I really wanted to sleep in.  As always, however, Janet Love’s Kripalu Yoga class transformed me. I'm telling you, her class is better than sex!  I left feeling calmer, more grounded, and with more energy to get through my day.  The chocolate coconut Lara bar I had for breakfast was yummy, but I was ready for lunch by noon.  I fixed myself a salad of delicate greens and had Tasty Bite’s Madras Lentils and rice for lunch. 

Later this evening I did a Nia warm down and stretch for the Tri-City Cyclists after their weekly Tuesday night ride.  That’s more men in one setting than I’ve ever taught in any of my Nia classes!  It was great fun, but got home late.  I had leftover pasta for dinner from the recipe I made late last week.
